Grinding

Our core expertise lies in matching layer grinding, a critical process in ultrasound probe manufacturing. We use advanced equipment and techniques to precisely grind and shape
matching layers, ensuring optimal acoustic impedance and performance.

Capabilities

We typically grind matching layer parts from 0.5” x 0.5” to 4” x 4” (12x12mm to 100x100mm) with thickness as thin as 0.00200” +/- 0.00007” (0.050 mm +/- 0.002 mm) Let us know if you need something beyond these specifications and we can probably make it work.

Our Typical Materials

  • Rexolite
  • Graphite (FE45A, GM10, AXF-5Q, etc)
  • Graphite polymer blends (MF190, etc)
  • ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene)
  • TPX Polymethylpentene Film
  • Customer supplied transducer sub-assemblies and matching layer components
  • Customer supplied parts for sharpening
